Jalapeno Cheese Paratha. These are delicious and very flavorful.
This is a whole wheat flat bread filled with combination of grated cheese. This is a good breakfast option.
Jalapeno cheese paratha can be served like cheese bagel or bread. This recipe will make 6 paratha and will serve 3.
To make Jalapeno cheeseparatha, we will need:
For dough we need 1 cup of whole wheat flour (chapathi ka aata), 1/2 teaspoon of salt,
approximately 1/2 cup of water. For filling,2 cups of mixed, finely shredded cheese, I am using
the blend of cheddar, colby and monterey jack cheese, 1/4 cup of finely chopped jalapeno
pepper, adjust to your taste, we also needabout 2 tablespoon of whole wheat flour to help rolling the parathas.
First I will make the dough. So, whole wheat flour, salt.
Mix it.
And, add the water slowly.
Dough should be soft and pliable.
Dough is ready.
So, just knead the dough little bit.
It's very soft and nice, so, I'm going to keep this for about 10 mins before I make the parathas.
Now, I will make the filling, here is the mixed shredded cheese,
so add the jalapeno peppers
and mix it well,
so they are nicely mixed together.
You can adjust the peppers to your taste, but after cooking they are not very hot.
Okay,
this is mixed well.
Divide the cheese into6 equal parts.
Filling is ready.
So this has been 15 mins, I have oiled my palms little bit. And the surface where I'm going to
knead the dough. So just knead it.
So, knead it just for few seconds.
And divide the dough also into 6 equal parts.
Okay, and roll them.
So, I have my dough balls ready
and my cheese balls. So I will do the filling.
So, just put little bit flour on the surface,
this will help us rolling the bread.
So, roll about 3 inch in diameter, put the filling
right in the center and cover it.
And, do all of them the same way.
I have filled all the 6 balls with the cheese,
so they are ready to roll, but keep them aside for about 5 mins
before you roll them. They are easy to rolland then cheese will not be coming out.
So, I am ready to make the parathas. Heat is on medium. So, before rolling the paratha, just
put little bit of dry flour on the surfaceyou will roll, that will help you rolling.
So, just press it and make sure the dry flour is on both side but not too much. So, roll
the paratha, just go gently. And turn it around. And roll it from the sides and not from the
center, otherwise center will get very thin.
These parathas should be little thick.
Roll them into 6 inch in diameter,
Let's check if the heat is ready, so just sprinkle water
and it's sizzling.
Don't cook these parathas on very high heat.
Let us put the paratha over.
While this is cooking, we can roll anotherparatha.
Again same thing, just put little
dry flour and make sure it's on both sides.Roll it gently.
And don't roll very thin.
This looks good and let's see how is my paratha this side.
As you see, the paratha on the
top is drying up and you can see little bitpuffing, so this is the time to turn it over.
It has light golden spots.
Just press it lightly. Not too much.
Turn it over again.
Press it
from the sides.
One more time and again just press it from the sides.
Paratha is nice golden brown.
It's ready, so you can take it out.
And put the next paratha.
So, this is ready
to turn it over as you see it has dried upthe surface. Okay!
Looks good.
And again just
press the sides. The center, it will cook, just the sides sometimes are not very well
cooked. So, pressing it, helps cooking.
On these parathas, you don't have to put the
oil because when you are serving that is the time you put the butter or cream cheese, or serve them as they are.
So, this is ready. Take it off. Make all the parathas the same way.
Jalapeno Cheese Paratha. This is a bestbreakfast treat. I like to serve this with
